December 1982
My longer delivery as crew: the yacht a Formosa 42, the route from India to Gibouti: 1.900 miles in 35 days, non stop.

March 1983
I was given the command of Katiouchka in Gibouti. For thee years I run diving charters, sailing between the Gulf of Aden and the South of the Red Sea.

April 1986
As Master of Katiouchka, I sailed from Gibouti to Cyprus along the Red Sea, clocking up 1.800 miles in 35 days, with stops in Port Soudan and the Gulf of Suez. I remained in the Eastern Med until 1997, sailing in Greek and Turkish waters, both on charter or with the owner on board, and always fascinated by the richness of the nature and the culture of that area.

January 1998
Still in charge of Katiouchka I set off for North Madagascar. I arrived in April, after a journey of 72 days and 5.500 miles. I crossed once again the Suez Canal and the Red Sea, through to Massaua and Gibouti, calling into Mukallà, Salalà in Oman, Lamu in Kenia, Zanzibar, Maiotte in the Comore Islands, and finally Nosy Be, in Madagascar. I remained there for three years, taking my guests to truly virgin bays and islands in extraordinary natural settings.

April 2001
I delivered Katiouchka to the Seychelles, where I remained for one year sailing throw the islands.

March 2002
I left Katiouchka, sold in Seychelles, after 19 years in charge.

February 2007
Back to Turkey and the Dodecanese for two seasons, as Captain of Dolce Vita, a 100 feet yacht for high end charter.

By the end of 2008 I had sailed approximately 45.000 nautical miles.
